Hand Knotted Mughal Qanat (Tent Lining) 5.7ft X 8ft Carpet
The design of this hand knotted carpet resembles that the art on a Mughal tent. Qanat as it was earlier known, refers to the lining that would have decorated the inside of a mughal tent, perhaps one of the away-from-home moving houses used in India during campaigns or migrations from one capital to another. Many such embroidered silk linings can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
