Lane's Net 5ft X 8ft Flat Weave Handmade Pet Yarn (Recycled Plastic) Dhurrie
Lane's Net is a one-of-a-kind pattern of diamonds rotated by 45 and 90 degrees. Diamonds are filled with thin lines radiating from the opposing ends. Legendarily this design was created by accident in England in the 19th century and is believed to give rise to the class of the eccentrics.
About PET Yarn Rugs
This handcrafted dhurrie is made from recycled PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) yarn that has been upcycled from discarded single-use plastic bottles. Plastic bottles that are collected manually from the scrap markets in India are used to make these rugs. The bottles are recycled and respun into new yarn. 1.2 kg of plastic is used to convert to 1 kg of plastic fibres, which in turn is processed to make 900 gm of PET yarn. Approximately 300-400 pieces of plastic bottles are used to make one rug that is measured at 5ft X 8ft.
