Hand Knotted Confluence of Rivers Carpet

This hand-knotted carpet from the Amorphous collection depicts "The Confluence of Rivers"(Encontro das Águas) known to be the merging of dark (blackwater) Rio Negro and the pale sandy-colored, white water Amazon River. This phenomenon is due to the differences in temperature, speed and amount of dissolved sediments in the waters of the two rivers.

True to the name of the collection to which these carpets belong "Amorphous", the design of these carpets don't have any particular form, size or shape, making each carpet unique and one-of-a-kind. It is their imperfections that make these carpets inspired and alive.
